What is Sattu Sharbat?
Sattu Sharbat is a traditional Indian drink prepared using roasted gram flour (sattu), spices, herbs, and chilled water. It is widely consumed during summer because it helps reduce body heat, keeps the body hydrated, and provides natural energy.

Ingredients
To Make Sattu Powder
- Roasted gram with skin – 2 cups (200 g)
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Black pepper – 1 tsp
To Make the Drink
- Sattu powder – 6 tbsp
- Chilled water – 1 litre
- Mint leaves – small handful
- Coriander leaves – small handful
- Green chillies (seeds removed) – 2
- Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
- Salt – as needed
- Ice cubes – as needed
How to Make Sattu Sharbat














Step 1: Roast the Spices
Heat a pan and dry roast cumin seeds and black pepper until aromatic.
Step 2: Roast the Gram
Add roasted gram and roast lightly for a few minutes to enhance the flavor.
Step 3: Grind Into Powder
Allow everything to cool completely. Transfer to a mixer jar and grind into a fine powder. Store in an airtight container for later use.
Step 4: Prepare the Drink
Take 6 tablespoons of the prepared sattu powder in a bowl. Add a little chilled water and mix well without lumps.
Step 5: Add Remaining Ingredients
Pour in the remaining chilled water. Add salt, chopped mint, coriander leaves, green chillies, lemon juice, and mix well.
Step 6: Serve Chilled
Add ice cubes and serve immediately for a refreshing summer drink.

- Heat a pan add cumin & pepper roast it till it pops then add roasted Bengal gram & roast till nicely aromatic.2.Switch off & cool completely.3.Then grind to a powder & this can be stored in a container.To Make the Drink:4.First take aiming bowl with 6 tbsp of powder add little chilled water Mix well with needed salt.5.Add all of the chilled water & give a mix.6.Now add chopped green chillies, chopped coriander-mint ,lemon juice &. Icecubes Mix well & serve chilled.7.Refreshing cooling summer drink ready.
