This mor koozh recipe is one such authentic filling recipe that is a hit for its special simple tasty satisfaction. Butter milk has so much of goodness its cooling and the good bacteria in buttermilk is most needed for our body’s health. Literally its a first time try for me until I tasted it from my brahmin friend it was super gooey and delicious. I like to have this as such like a thick porridge but you can spread it

This mor koozh recipe can be consumed by itself but if you want to have a side dish that is spicy can have with little garlic podi this is the recommendation from my brahmin friend.Only sour curd will be suitable for making this more kali for exact taste. Some make by soaking rice and grinding without rice flour both methods are equally tasty and good. I personally prefer to use gingelly oil for flavour and taste. Some times it is called as more upma suitable as a breakfast, dinner or even as a snack. Do try this excellent simple dish for sure.

INGREDIENTS:

Arisi maavu/rice flour – 1/2 cup
Butter milk – 2 cups
Salt as per taste

For thalipu:

Gingely oil/nalennai – 1 tbsp
Kadugu/mustard – 1 tsp
Ulundhu/urad dal – 1 tsp
Kadala paruppu/bengal gram – 1 tsp
Mor milagai – 3-4
Green chillies – 1 chopped
Some curry leaves
Asafoetida – 1/2 tsp

METHOD:

1.Beat curd in 2 cups of water.
2.In separate bowl add the rice flour and some butter milk and whisk without lumps and mix it with the rest of the butter milk needed salt and mix well keep ready.
3.Keep a thick vessel add gingelly oil, add mustard to splutter with both dals.

4.Then add the more milaga,green chillies and some curry leaves.
5.Add asafoetida then add the mixed up butter milk and stir continuously till it becomes semisolid consistency.

6.Now lower the flame and close with a lid and leave it to cook for 10 minutes.
7.When done if you touch with your wet hands it will not stick.
8.Serve with garlic podi.

Notes

You can have it as such or spread on a plate and cut into pieces.
Sour curd are more suitable and important for this recipe.
If you have no mor milaga you can use dry red chillies.
Gingelly oil is more suitable for this more koozh.
