Even better than having chicken popcorn and just to say you won’t believe till you taste it. Cauliflower cut into bite sized florets boiled just for seconds then dredged in all gorgeous flours blended with spice mixture. Then finally into the coating with spiced batter and into bread crumbs. That’s it all fried golden and you are all-ready to dive into this amazing addictive, crunchy popcorn’s as many as you can have it paired up with mayonnaise or a simple ketchup. I have used ordinary bread crumbs if you have panko bread crumbs just use it. I did not have onion powder with me

INGREDIENTS:

Cauliflower – medium sized
(Bite sized florets)

For mixing (wet & dry):

All purpose flour – 1/2 cup
Corn starch – 1/2 cup
Salt as per need
Chilli powder(kashmiri chilli) -11/2 tbsp
Mixed herbs – 1/2 tbsp
Garlic powder – 1/2 tbsp
Sugar – 1/2 tbsp
Pepper powder – 1/2 tbsp
Soda water -1/2 cup or just enough to make batter
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Bread crumbs – 11/2 cups
Some extra spices to mix with
bread crumbs and batter
Oil to fry

METHOD:

1.Take a kadai with boiling water add bitesized cauliflower boil for 2 seconds then drain it and keep(add a pinch of salt while boiling).
2.Now take a mixing bowl with maida, cornflower, mixed herbs.
3.Add chilli powder, sugar, needed salt, garlic powder and pepper powder mix well.
4.Add cauliflower florets mix up.

5.Sieve excess flour.In a broad pan add bread crumbs with some chilli powder, garlic powder and mixed herbs mix well and keep ready.
6.Now to the left over excess flour add ginger garlic paste, some chilli powder and a pinch of garlic powder add soda water make it to a bajji batter consistency.

7.Now coat each cauliflower with batter then breadcrumbs and do the same for all the florets and keep ready.
8.Heat up a kadai with oil and when it heats up fry cauliflower in medium hot oil.
9.Fry all the same way and take out in a tissue.
10.Serve hot with mayonnaise or ketchup.

Notes

  • Adding soda water gives a nice crunchiness to the fry if you don’t have add water and mix.
  • Along with garlic powder if you have onion powder please add it will give a nice flavour to this pops recipe.
  • Fry these at correct flame to get a nice crisp and cooked cauliflower florets.
  • Don’t boil the cauliflower for more minutes it will become soft and you will not be successful in making this cauliflower popcorn rightly.
