recipe for mango sorbet /dessert
Summers always intensely force us to find something cool and refreshing!obviously in and out there are many summer thirst quenchers but sorbet is a special dessert that is very distinctive not at all resembling a ice-cream.My mind is fully occupied with this gorgeous golden fruit(mango) this season and I was all set to make a sorbet for first time with mangoes.when making sorbet with mangoes try it with a variety that are not fibrous!among the popular varieties of mangoes available down South(India) “imam pasand” variety is most popular at my place and it is such a delight to taste.Main ingredient in this dessert is the fruit by itself and no fattening s or milk added like we add for icecream or a gelato.It can be made healthier by reducing the sugar content,but it depends upon the sweetness of the fruit added and of-course according to your own taste.
recipe for mango sorbet
Mangoes – 2 (medium)(take out the pulp)
Sugar – 1/4 cup(made to a syrup)
Water for making syrup – 1/4 cup
Lemon juice – 11/2 tbsp
1.Make sugar syrup by boiling water and sugar for 5 minutes.
2.Filter and let it cool.
3.In a mixer add scooped mangoes, lemon juice blend well till smooth by adding sugar syrup.
4.Transfer to suitable freezer container and freeze.
5.For every one hour take out and blend and re-freeze.
6.You should do it repeatedly for at-least 3-5 times.
7.Then let it sit for 6-7 hours in the freezer finally.
8.Scoop out and serve chilled.
