Baby corn 65 is an excellent snack that can be had any time in a day both for younger and older ones. It would definitely become a kids favourite snack because of its crunchy and delectable taste. If you don’t know how to make baby corn 65 don’t even think like that its very easy that everyone can easily make and relish. You can of course directly add the masala and fry the corn. But for me a pre- boil before adding the masala always matters much. Don’t cook the vegetable in water for long few minutes will be all good. I have added garlic powder and ginger powder as I had it with me if you don’t have just substitute with ginger garlic paste. I have added some mixed herbs but don’t worry

if you don’t have it add some finely chopped coriander and that should be fine. I prefer to select the corn with husk which are fresh and firm. Mine was nice tender small baby corn so I have not sliced it and made it as it is. You can make into whatever size you want and make this wonderful snack. INGREDIENTS:

Baby corn – 18-20
All purpose flour/maida – 1 tbsp
Cornflour – 1 tbsp
Riceflour – 1 tbsp
Bengal gram flour/kadala maavu – 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala – 1/8 th tsp
Chilli powder – 4 tbsp
Oregano/mixed herbs – 3/4 tbsp
Ginger powder – 11/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Garlic powder – 11/2 tsp
Salt as per need
Sesame seeds/ellu – 1 tsp

 

 

 

 

METHOD:

1.First clean the baby corn with husk and hair moved.
2.Add the baby corn to boiling water cook for 2 minutes don’t make it soft, it should be just boiled for some time.
Remove and drain keep ready.
3.Take a mixing bowl add all the masala powders given in the list including salt let it marinate.

4. Add all the flours listed mix the ingredients to coat the vegetable sprinkle little water at a time and make a nice batter with some sesame seeds.
5.It should rightly coat the vegetable.
6.Now heat oil in a kadai.
7.When oil heats up keep the heat at medium and fry till golden and crisp.
8.Take out in a tissue and serve with tomato sauce.

Notes

  1. The batter should rightly coat the baby corn and it should not be watery.
  2. I have not added any colour if you want add colour or add kashmirichilli powder.
  3. My chilli powder itself was sufficient to give the right colour.
  4. Dont keep the flame high the insides will not be cooked and outside will burn.
  5. If you over boil the vegetable then after coating and frying the bater it won’t be good.
