shikanji drink / Indian LemonadeDuring summer the scorching sun sucks up all the little energy we have!people are in constant search of some thirst rejuvenating drinks!and it becomes inevitably necessary that we have a strong needing to drink something completely cool.Nimbu pani or shikanji is the exact simple tasty inevitable drink that will quench our thirst. shikanji drink / Indian LemonadeShikanji is a famous summer drink in the Northern parts of India and the same drink without spices is common in southern India called by the name lemon juice.Iam already a big fan of lemon juice and shikanji for me was even more refreshing!was an alternative to usual juice with lots of digestive goodness.Adding mint leaves gives an extra punch and refreshing feel to this shikanji drink.I have added club soda instead of water but you can very well use cool water instead of soda.It is a total blissful drink for hot hot summer days.

shikanji drink / Indian Lemonade

INGREDIENTS:

Lemon juice – 9-10 tbsp
Sugar – 8-10 tbsp
Pepper powder – 3/4 tsp
Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Black salt – 1 tsp
Ice cubes as required
Club soda – 3-4 cups or as needed
Lemon slices for display is purely optional.
Some mint leaves for garnish.

METHOD:

1.Combine lemon juice,salt and sugar beat well in a mixer till smoothly combined then add black salt,cumin powder and pepper powder.
2.Beat well.
3.Add club soda to it and mix well.
4.When serving add ice-cubes and mint leaves(have added some torn leaves).
5.Serve chilled.

Notes

The amount of sugar added purely depends upon your taste,so adjust accordingly. Serve it cool. Even for spices you can change the measurements according to your taste. I have added club soda instead of water but you can very well use cool water instead of soda.
