recipe for a milkshake /pomegranate oats milkshakeFor me the milkshakes should be cool,creamy and extremely refreshing!after all the very thought of milkshakes are always reserved for those spicy hot summer days.According to history in Wikipedia the milk shakes were blended with hand(no machines) for long period of time till a handblender was invented specially for milkshakes.Oats have become only popular in recent years because of its high nutritional goodness!particularly a special fibre in oats is of high role in reducing cholesterol.recipe for a milkshake /pomegranate oats milkshakeWhen oats was introduced in India only porridge’s were made but as the importance of oats were well understood by time endless varieties of dishes and many common Indian dishes like idli,dosa and even chappathi’s are made now using oats! making it both innovative and healthy as well.Both Pomegranate and oats complement each other with their fibre rich goodness and a special anti oxidant power from this marvelous fruit added to any cold drinks or desserts adds more value to that particular dish.Instead of adding sugar and milk combinations I have tried with milkmaid which had qualified to be a perfect pair for oats and pomegranate.This recipe is a reference from sharmis passions but with my own twist.

INGREDIENTS:

Oats – 1/2 cup(oat meal)
Pomegranate – 1 cup
Condensed milk – 1/2 cup or as needed
Milk – 1/2 cup or as needed

METHOD:

1.Dry roast the oats till flavours released.
2.Add this to a blender along with all the given ingredients and beat till frothy.
3.You can add ice-cubes and blend it to a frothy shake but i have not added.
4.chill and serve.

Ingredients

Notes

This milk shake remains little chunky but if you want to be smooth first grind oats and then all the ingredients to a smooth frothy mixture. You can add ice-cream instead of milkmaid. You can substitute milk instead of milk maid by adding sugar with milk. You can add ice-cube along with other ingredients and blend.
