masala puffed rice /kara pori(snacks)My mil(mother in-law) makes it quite often,the aroma of the garlic when added to hot oil is seductive to the core and when she finishes it the whole space is filled up with tantalizing masala puffed rice /kara pori.At-times the most engaging part is that she sprinkles some plain sev to it.I always admire my mil for her ever twinkling smile and exotic cooking skill’s.masala puffed rice /kara pori(snacks)We should be cautious that we don’t burn the garlic as it spoils the wholesomeness of this snack.Some times puffed rice we buy are salty by itself so check for it!!If it is so then don’t add salt or add initially for seasoning alone.The Masala puffed rice recipe/kara pori is humble yet a phenomenal tea time snack I should say!yes.. it’s too good!!generally every one loves it.

masala puffed rice recipe  /kara pori(snacks)

INGREDIENTS:

Pori/puffed rice/murmura – 100gms
Red chillies – 4-5 (broken to pieces)
Roasted peanuts -4-5 tbsp
Garlic pods with skin – crushed 4-5
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder – 11/4 tsp
Curry leaves – some
Asafoetida/hing – 1 tsp
Oil – 11/2tbsp

METHOD:

1.Keep every thing ready and heat a kadai with oil.
2.When hot add garlic to become golden then add asfoetida ,curry leaves and chillies and saute well.(in low flame)
3.Then add pori/puffed rice,peanuts(roasted)turmeric powder and salt and mix thoroughly in low flame.
4.Mix in-between for 5-8 minutes so that it makes even mixture and color.
5.Switch off when cool transfer to airtight container.
