We are in the middle of July month starting from here full one month is filled up with celebrations. Its Aadi month dedicated to goddesses we see her as sakthi(power) in many forms. Some of the auspicious occasions celebrated during this month are aadi ammavasai ,aadi perruku ,aadi pooram and even varalakshmi nonbu. Here in my blog I have so many recipes you can refer. For this aadi month especially aadi perukku recipes are given with varies rice variations. During aadi velli
they make maavillaku for amman worship. If at all we are not able to make all these rice varieties and other complicated recipes we can keep it simple by making payasam alone. I have made this simple arisi paal payasam for this aadi month which will be a delicious easy rice kheer recipe. We can use even basmati rice instead of raw rice it will be more flavourful. The rice to be broken should not be fine. Instead of cardamom powder can replace it with saffron or both can be used.

easy rice kheer recipe /arisi paal payasam
INGREDIENTS:
Raw rice broken or basmati rice(broken) – 1/2 cup
Sugar – 3/4 cup
Condensed milk – 4-5 tbsp
Milk(boiled already) – 3 cups
Water – 11/2 cups
Cashews(broken) – handful
Ghee – 2 tsp
Cardamom powder – 2 tsp
METHOD:
1.Take broken rice in a kadai dry roast till nice aroma and rice puffs up white, switch off.
2.In another thick bottomed sauce pan add water to boil to this add 3/4 th of the milk given and when it boils add the rice and cook.
3.In another pan add ghee and fry cashews golden.
4.Close the lid cook in medium high flame with in-between stirring.
5.When cooked add sugar, stir to dissolve it completely.
6.After some boiling switch off and add golden cashews, cardamom powder and remaining milk with condensed milk.
7.Stir nicely enjoy it hot or cold.

Notes
You can even add edible camphor if you like the aroma.
To make the process simple you can pressure cook the rice instead of boiling.
Instead of sugar you can add jaggery.
The rava broken should be not very fine.
