Salads are a must and most suitable during these hot summer days.I love to have salads chilled and crispy. This sprouted green gram salad recipe is one such refreshing salads with high protein content not only that even kids will love it. This sprouted green gram is so versatile that you can match with many ingredients and for example you can add
even some roasted peanuts for extra crunch and texture. My son loves raw mangoes more than anything so have put lots of it in this salad. You can add pomegranate seeds, boiled potatoes or even some veggies and the list goes on.I have not added lemon juice if you want you can add and for more spiciness you can add some chopped green chillies.I have many salad recipes in my blog please check my Lebanese tabbouleh salad, watermelon lettuce salad, cucumber salad, chickpea salad and potato salad.

INGREDIENTS:
Green gram dal after sprouting – 1 cup
Tomatoes chopped(thick skin alone) -2 tbsp
Chopped onion – 2 tbsp
Chopped raw mango – 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
Chaat masala – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Some finely chopped coriander
METHOD:
1.Soak green gram dal for 8 hours wash and drain put it in a wet muslin cloth and keep closed in a vessel for 2 days you will get nice long sprouts.
2.Take these sprouts as needed and steam them in an idli pot for 2 minutes.
3.Take out and in-between keep all ingredients ready.
4.Take a mixing bowl add sprouts and all the ingredients listed.
5.Mix well and serve as it is or chilled.

Notes
The sprouts should be steamed for short time only so that colour and nutrients are intact.
I have not added lemon juice if you want you can add and for more spiciness you can add some chopped green chillies.
The ingredients added can be anything that will go with the salad it may be some chopped cucumber some pomegranate or even boiled potatoes.
