This is a homemade chicken tikka masala that any one can make without any fuss that tastes delicious. Tikka means pieces of chicken and its persian word. It comes out juicy and tender as we are adding yogurt and lemon juice.No wonder chicken tikka in general is popular all over the world & does’t need a special introduction by itself. Instead of frying chicken you can grill it in oven or use little butter or oil to pan fry it. I prefer to fry it in good amount of butter so that it comes out tasty & juicy each time. If you are not doing it as a gravy you can simply make it as a starter. You can add some veggies especially capsicum it adds a special flavour & colour to this dish. At the end of the show you will be confident that

INGREDIENTS:
For making tikka:
Chicken bone less – 300 gms
Salt as needed for chicken
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Curd – 2 tbsp
Kashmiri Red chilli powder – 2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Butter/oil to fry -1/2 cup
For gravy:
Oil+butter – 3 tbsp
Chopped onion – 3/4 cup
Ginger garlic paste – 11/2 tbsp
Tomato puree(ground tomatoes) – 1 cup
Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder – 2 tbsp
Cumin powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Dry Fenugreek leaves/kasuri methi – 2 tsp
Fresh-cream – 1-2 tbsp
METHOD:
1.First lets take a bowl add chicken with salt, lemon juice mix.
2.Add ginger garlic paste, curd, chilli powder, garam masala, cumin powder & oil mix well.
3.Keep still for 10 minutes.
4.Now heat up a pan with butter fry marinated chicken pieces take out & keep ready.
5.Save fried oil for the gravy.
6.Keep a kadai with butter& oil add onions to golden.
7.Then ginger garlic paste sauce well add tomato paste stir in.
8.Add all the spices mentioned for the gravy with needed salt for the gravy.
9.When tomatoes are cooked add water when it bubbles add fried chicken with fried oil stir in nicely.
10.Add water to bring to gravy consistency.
11.Close lid and cook open add kasuri methi, switch off add cream stir & serve.

Notes
- Chicken should not be cooked too much.
- Adding cream is optional.
- Do fry chicken in butter for more flavour.
