One of the Christmas favourite cookies that I tried for this festive season is this eggless walnut crescent cookies. At first was little hesitant to try this biscuits thinking of its outcome. Atlast after baking was all surprised by the wonderful outcome it was tasty, crumbly and melt in a mouth. It was very delicate in texture that should be handled gently till we serve it on the table. The biscuit itself tastes with less sugar only the sugar coating combination gives a complete perfect taste. A very simple cookie without eggs or

even baking soda and baking powder. While serving you can once again dust with powdered sugar and serve. I have used icing sugar to roll the biscuits you can use powdered sugar. Thought that it would become too much of sugar taste. You need not make a dough out of it just press with your hands and form crescent shapes and bake. It actually bakes in little time and of course it depends all upon the oven. As I would always say that each oven behaves different. Do try this eggless walnut crescent cookies for sure for this Christmas or even as a tea time bake.

INGREDIENTS:

All purpose flour/maida – 225 gms
Unsalted butter – 115 gms
Walnuts – 115 gms
Castor sugar – 115 gms
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Salt – 1/4 tsp
Icing sugar to roll the cookies

METHOD:

1.Mix salt with the flour mix well and keep.
2.In a blender grind walnuts then add butter,sugar and vanilla essence and blend well then add flour little at a time.

3.Blend to form a crumbled flour and if you take the flour and press it should form shapes.
4.Now make crescent shapes out of it.
5.In-between preheat oven at 180 for 10 minutes.
6.Arrange these shapes in a parchment lined baking pan.
7.After it preheats bake it for 10-15 minutes or till nicely done.

8.Take out and then coat the biscuits with icing sugar .

Notes

Every oven is different so bake accordingly.
If you have a crescent shaped cutter you can use it or just do it by hand.
I have used icing sugar to coat the cookie but you can use powdered sugar but check for sweetness.
You can rest the cookie a minute or two before rolling it in sugar or can roll after its cool.
But after cooling means it won’t stick that good.
