This corn flakes mixture recipe is very easy savoury snack to try this diwali. Its not only simple to make but its tang, sweetish spiciness is very additive. Mostly for making this they use only dried makai poha/cornflakes and some say they use even ready made corn flakes. But, doing it in a right way with right ingredients gives exact taste and fulfilment. If this all can be baked and mixed up. One thing that you have to give up is that you will not get all the same taste as the fried one.you are health conscious but like to have some heart fulfilling
snacks then these dry corn flakes are available every where at a cheap price at all the grocery store outlets. Generally for making this type of snacks ground nut oil or sunflower oil can be the best. I have added more of peanuts and avoided adding roasted bengal gram dal. You can alter the ingredients like can add even some other nuts like badam then even some aval or even some oma podi. If adding aval should deep fry it in the same way as we do for corn flakes. INGREDIENTS:
Corn flakes – 3 cups
Cashews – 2 tbsp
Some curry leaves
Dried grapes – 2 tbsp
Raw peanuts – 1/2 cup
Oil to fry
Spice powders:
Chilli powder – 11/2 tbsp
Amchur powder – 1/2 tbsp
Hing/asafoetida – 1 tsp
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Salt as needed
METHOD:
1.Keep a kadai with oil and keep every ingredient ready.
2.When the oil is perfectly hot take some cornflakes in a deep perforated laddle and immerse it in oil.
3.In seconds it will puff and fry and don’t over fry take out in a tissue for few minutes for oil to drain then transfer to another large basin bowl.
4.Repeat with rest of the corn flakes and finish frying.
5.Next fry peanuts without browning till done drain oil and add to cornflakes.
6.Do the same with dry grapes and cashews.
7.Finally switch off the stove add curry leaves to fry and add to cornflakes.
8.Now add all the spices given in the spice powder lists mix well and store in airtight container.

Notes
Spiciness can be changed according to our taste.
Even some badam can be added.
Some aval can be fried and added along with corn flakes.
Ground nut oil or sunflower oil can be best for frying.
Already corn has some salt in it so add accordingly.
Only while frying corn flakes the oil should be hot for other nuts you should adjust so that it does not burn.
