This aval ladoo can be done in many ways you can add jaggery instead of sugar. Any nuts even pista and raisins can be added I have added some cashews and badam.This poha should be roasted well till a nice aroma with popping sound comes out. Some add oats, dates and the list goes on. You can very well use normal aval instead of mapillai samba aval. To add a special touch add some coconut bits for extra richness and taste. INGREDIENTS:

Mapillai samba or NormalAval/poha/ beaten rice – 1 cup

Sugar 1/2 cup

Cardamom powder – 11/2tsp

Ghee – 1/4 cup

Some badam slices,Cashewnut – 1/4 cup

 

METHOD:

1. Add ghee fry nuts to golden then add poha to it make it crisp.
2. Switch off cool.

Notes

  • You can use normal aval instead of mapillai samba aval.
  • Jaggery can be used instead of sugar.
  • Even nattu sarkarai can be replaced instead of sugar.
  • Ghee added should be enough to make shapes and it should hold.
  • Even some pista or kismiss can be added.
