ridge gourd skin chutney/Peerkangai thol chutney

Total Time 10 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • Ridge gourd peels - 1 cup approximate
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Green chillies - 4-5
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic pods - 9-10 small
  • Tamarind - small-piece
  • Coriander and mint leaves a hand full
  • Coconut scrapping -1 cup

Method
 

  1. First peel skin from the vegetable.
  2. Keep a kadai add oil and cumin.
  3. Then add green chillies,tamarind and garlic pods and saute till rawness goes.
  4. Add the peel and fry.
  5. Now add coriander,mint combo with salt.
  6. Close with a lid for 5-6 minutes.
  7. Switch off ,add coconut to it and grind coarsely.

Notes

Can be had with rice,idli and dosa.
You can add tadka to it if you wish,but I have not done any tadka.
If you wish it to be little sweeter add a piece of jaggery.
