How to Make Ragi Milk at Home | Healthy Kezhvaragu Summer Drink

Ingredients
  

  • Finger millet/Ragi(whole) - 1 cup / 180 gm(approx)

    Jaggery powder - 3/4 cup(150gm)(adjust sweetness according to taste)

    Water to grind - 4 cups / 1 litre

    Cardamom powder - 2 tsp

    Cashews - 7-8

    Almonds - 7-8

Method
 

  1. Wash ragi 3 times thoroughly Then add clean water to rinse.
    2.Let it soak for 8 hours.
    3.Soak cashews & Almonds in hot water for one hour.
    4.Dry Roast Ragi in a pan till it pops & switch off
    5.After Roasting cool add this to a mixer jar add soaked almonds & cashews.
    6.Add water little at a time totally I Have added 3 cups.
    7.Grind it then pass through a sieve.
    8.Do the same & pass through a sieve.
    9.Then take a muslin cloth then pour the milk through this squeeze & take milk.
    10.Now you will be getting pure ragi milk.
    11.Add cardamom powder & mix.
    12.Add jaggery powder & mix to let them dissolve.
    13.Now add some ice cubes & Serve.
    14.You can serve cool by keeping in fridge.

Notes

  • Always use fresh ragi for better taste
  • Adjust jaggery based on your sweetness preference
  • Strain well to get smooth milk
  • You can store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day
