how to make idli podi recipe with garlic

Ingredients
  

  • Black gram dhal/urad - 1/2 cup
  • Bengal gram/kadala paruppu - 1/2 cup
  • Salt as needed
  • Red chillies - 1 cup
  • Asafoetida/hing - 3/4 tbsp
  • Garlic - 6-8 cloves with skin
  • Few curry leaves

Method
 

  1. Dry roast every thing separately.
  2. While roasting chillies add salt with it.
  3. Garlic can be lightly heated up at the end.
  4. Powder every thing coarsely and store.
  5. Mix with sesame oil and serve.

Notes

Every ingredient should be roasted perfectly to get nice flavorful podi.
It can be ground coarsely or to a fine powder.
