Ingredients
Method
- Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken breast pieces with salt, 2 teaspoons of soya sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoons of pepper powder, and 1 1/2 teaspoons of ginger garlic paste. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15-20 minutes. 2.Prepare the Batter: Add 1 egg and add 2 tablespoons of cornflour. Mix until you have a smooth batter. Dip each marinated chicken piece into the batter, ensuring it's well-coated. 3.Fry the Chicken: Heat oil in a deep frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully add the battered chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the fried chicken pieces and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Set aside. 4.Make the Sauce: In another pan or skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste and sauté for a minute until fragrant. Stir in 1 tablespoon of chilli flakes, 1 tablespoon of roasted sesame seeds.1 tablespoon of pepper powder, 1 tablespoon of chilli sauce, 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of soya sauce In a separate small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cornflour with a little water to make a paste and add it to the pan. This will help thicken the sauce. Stir the sauce continuously until it thickens and becomes glossy. 5.Combine and Garnish: Add the fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss them until they are well coated with the sauce. Sprinkle with some of roasted sesame seeds, some chopped coriander, and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Mix everything together and cook for a couple of minutes until the chicken is heated through and the flavors meld. 6.Serve: Your Honey Sesame Chicken is ready to be served! You can serve it hot with steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
- Honey Chilli Chicken is best served hot and freshly prepared.
- The crispy chicken tends to lose its crispiness if it sits for too long in the sauce.
- Use a neutral oil with a high smoke point like vegetable oil or peanut oil for frying.
- Adjust the amount of red chili sauce and red chili flakes to control the spiciness of your Honey Chilli Chicken.
- Feel free to customize the recipe to your liking.
