how to make an easy snack/uppu seedai recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Processed rice flour - 1 cup
  • Fried and ground urad dhal flour - 1tsp
  • Butter - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 3/4tsp
  • Salt as needed
  • Scrapped coconut - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - 1/4tsp

Instructions
 

  • First heat up the rice flour in a kadai(2 minutes)(Should be able to put up a line with flour).
  • Then fry the coconut in the same kadai.
  • Both rice flour and urad flour are sieved.
  • Then add rest of the ingredients and make a dough by adding water little by little.
  • Then roll the balls lightly without putting pressure.
  • Now rest it for 30-40 minutes.
  • Then fry it in medium flame till golden.

Notes

Don't fry seedai on high flame as the inside will be raw!should always be fried on medium flame.
If we add more urad dhal the seedai end result will not be good.
If the rice flour is with stones then seedai will burst.
The rice flour and urad flour should be surely sieved before the process of making seedai.
