sathu maavu laddu /ladoo/urundai with health mix

Ingredients
  

  • Sathumaavu powder/health mix ready-made or homemade - 1 cup
  • Jaggery palm/panaivellam - 1/2 cup(powdered)
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cashewnut and badam - 3 tbsp chopped
  • Ghee for frying nuts- 1tsp
  • melted ghee for molding laddu - 3tbsp or as needed

Instructions
 

  • First fry nuts in 1 tsp of ghee and keep ready.
  • In a pan add jaggery with 3-4 tbsp of water and make it dissolve.
  • When all dissolved filter it and keep ready.
  • Take sathu maavu in a broad vessel,add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Add the jaggery syrup and mix well.
  • Now add hot ghee little by little as needed and nuts make balls when warm.
  • sathumaavu laddu is ready.

Notes

Already for sathumavu I have added cardamom powder so have added little only.
As each sathu maavu ingredients differs quality too differs you must add ghee as needed and no particular quantity can be defined.
The balls should be made when warm itself otherwise it will become dry and does not hold its shape.
