saffron cookies /kesar biscuits(eggless)

Ingredients
  

  • All purpose flour/maida - 115 grms/3/4 cup
  • Sugar - 40 gms/1/4 cup +2 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee - 50 gms/1/4 cup
  • Some chopped almonds and pistachios -
  • Saffron - few strands
  • A teaspoon of milk

Instructions
 

  • Disslove saffron in warm milk.
  • Keep everything ready including chopped nuts.
  • Cream ghee and sugar nicely.
  • Then add saffron and cardamom powder mix.
  • Then add flour to it.
  • Make a dough.
  • In-between preheat oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • Flatten it between two sheets of butter paper or a parchment.
  • Now sprinkle the nuts over it and roll.
  • Then cut to desired shapes.
  • Place the biscuits over a butter paper lined tray and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Cool it before you store.

Notes

All the flavour comes from saffron hence the name saffron biscuits.
Adding nuts is a must which gives the real crunch.
You can use a parchment or a cling film to roll the dough as it would stick without it.
