At all time making only sathu maavu kanji with health mix powder may become boring.For a break and variation can make this delectable sathu maavu laddu.Its not only laddu that we can make with this treasured health mix. We can make even dosa’s,adai’s and rest I leave to your own imagination.For this sathu maavu ladduI can’t tell you the exact amount of ghee but I have given the standard measurement below it may or may not be applicable. As we are adding jaggery as liquid it will help for binding to a certain level that we will need only few tablespoons of ghee.But,sometimes more amounts may be needed depending upon the quality of the sathumaavu.
This particular laddu should be shaped when warm itself if we leave a gap then the maavu dries up and it will not hold the shape.If at all the powder dries out then you will need more amount of ghee that have to be put in.Powdered sugar can also be used as we do for usual ladoo’s but using palm jaggery or ordinary jaggery would make it more healthy especially for this Sathu maavu laddu .
sathu maavu laddu /ladoo/urundai with health mix
INGREDIENTS:
Sathumaavu powder/health mix(ready made or homemade) – 1 cup
Jaggery(palm)/panaivellam – 1/2 cup(powdered)
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Cashewnut and badam – 3 tbsp(chopped)
Ghee for frying nuts- 1tsp
melted ghee for molding laddu – 3tbsp or as needed
METHOD:
1.First fry nuts in 1 tsp of ghee and keep ready.
2.In a pan add jaggery with 3-4 tbsp of water and make it dissolve.
3.When all dissolved filter it and keep ready.
4.Take sathu maavu in a broad vessel,add cardamom powder and mix well.
5.Add the jaggery syrup and mix well.
6.Now add hot ghee little by little as needed and then nuts,make balls when warm.
7.sathumaavu laddu is ready.

Notes
As each sathu maavu ingredients differs quality too differs you must add ghee as needed and no particular quantity can be defined.
The balls should be made when warm itself otherwise it will become dry and does not hold its shape.
