Most nurtured festival Ganesh chaturthi is right here and this time it falls on early September. We all know offering modak is very important for this vinayagar chaturthi apart from this they also do pedas and ladoos which is also our ganapathi’s favourite. This time Iam making this nuts khoya coconut ladoo specially along with usual modak. Mawa laddu is quite a different type of sweet that Iam making this time. Adding nuts gives a crispy crunch and taste for this mawa laddu. You can even use
store-bought mawa or khoya. Both maida and rava should be roasted well for making a nice tasting ladoo. All purpose flour should be roasted in ghee for nice flavour and taste. While roasting be careful not to burn. I have used cashews,pista’s and badam you can add even some walnuts if you like. Instead of maida you can replace it with wheat flour or on a healthy note even some millet flour. But I have not tried any and did only with all purpose flour. Do try this nuts khoya coconut ladoo sweet for sure.

nuts khoya coconut ladoo /mawa laddu
INGREDIENTS:
All purpose flour/maida – 1 cup
Semolina/rava – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 1 cup
Desiccated coconut – 1 cup
Khoya /mawa – 1/4 cup
Powdered sugar – 1/2 cup
Cardamom powder/elachi – 1 tsp
Chopped nuts (cashews,pista,badam) – 1/2 cup
METHOD:
1.Chop nuts keep ready then in a kadai dry roast rava till golden transfer to a large mixing bowl.
2.In a pan add a tbsp of ghee add maida then nicely roast till colour changes and aromatic.
add this to the roasted semolina with coconut and powdered sugar.
3.Heat khoya in a pan till it becomes loose and let it cool.
4.Add khoya, chopped nuts ,cardamom powder to the rava maida mix and mix thoroughly without lumps.
5.Heat the ghee and add this little at a time to this mixture and mix nicely.
6.Now you can make balls and store it in airtight container.

Notes
Don’t over do the roasting part as it may get burnt easily.
Choice of nuts is as per preference.
I have added desiccated coconut but you can add even fresh coconut.
