For every mango lover the very presence of juicy sweet addictive mangoes assist to easily pass on the scorching summer days. Already have shared my mango mania stories in many of my posts. Now its the right time to make some mango halwa with mango pulp before the end of the season. In one of my earlier posts have done with mango halwa variation with rava. But, this variation of mango halwa is slightly different silky smooth and melt in a mouth. Nice ripe sweet mangoes will be good for
making this mango halwa. Only some fibrous variety of mangoes will not suit for making this mango halwa. I have added cashew nuts and badam you can add some chironji (saraparuppu) or even pistachios. We add corn flour to give consistency and here I have added less but if you want to make slices then can increase the amount. Both cardamom powder and saffron can be added but if you don’t want you can add any of the one. Do try this easy peasy tasty mango halwa for sure.
mango halwa with mango pulp / mambazha halwa
INGREDIENTS:
Mango pulp – 1 cup
Sugar – 4tbsp
Corn starch – 11/2 tbsp
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Saffron strands – few
Chopped badam and cashews – 2 tbsp
Ghee – 4-5 tbsp
METHOD:
1.First peel the skin of ripe mangoes chop and add to a mixer jar make a smooth paste take a measure of one cup and keep ready.
2.In-between add cornflour in some 1/4 cup water and mix without lumps add saffron to this and mix well keep.
3.Keep a kadai with ghee and add mango pulp to this keep on stirring till it becomes thick leaving the sides and ghee oozes out.
4.Now add sugar to it and at this stage it will become watery.
5.Keep on stirring and add mixture of cornflour and saffron.
6.Stir well by adding ghee whenever needed.
7. At one stage when ghee starts oozing add cardamom powder.
8.Switch off the stove add chopped nuts mix well.
9.Set it in a plate and cut or taste as it is as halwa.

Notes
Adding saffron is optional.
Nice ripe juicy mangoes of any variety without fiber is preferable.
Nuts need not be fried but if you wish you can do.
