how to do ragi malt powder/drink recipe
A most promising ingredient to mention in diets for diabetics is “Ragi”!many health articles shows that there is a proven reversibility of abnormalities related to diabetes(tested only in animals according to a medical article that I have read) with having regular intake of ragi/nachni/kezhvaragu.But it needs no testing its a more traditional authentic ingredient that anyone can have from infant to old age for sure of-course its a most significant weaning ingredient in South India.Ragi malt is a simple drink the word “malt” stands for sprouted cereal dry roasted, powdered and had as a morning breakfast either by adding salt or in a sweet form.As a breakfast it can be consumed as a thick porridge like, but as a ragi drink for kids we can make ragi malt powder by adding some nuts to it!can store and give as a healthy drink for children which can be a nutritious drink for a growing child.Instead of roasting the nuts we can keep the nuts to heat up under hot direct sun and then grind because when we roast it will become sticky easily as the oils from it will be released.Adding nuts makes the drink more rich and tasty even saffron strands can be added while grinding if you wish.Add sugar while grinding nuts with whisking action so that it will grind smoothly.

Notes
Addition of ginger powder is optional.
Nuts if grinded with sugar grinds smoothly.
While grinding nuts always whisk don't leave the mixer to run continuously.
You can use whole ragi, sprout and make flour out of it or you can dry fry ready made sprouted ragi powder and make this ragi malt as I have made.
I don't roast the nuts as the oil in the nuts easily releases while grinding and the powder may not be smooth.
You can sundry the nuts instead of dry frying.
Its mainly for growing kids and its a very healthy beverage that will boosts energy in them.
