Yet another dessert that I love to make and enjoy!!yes!my total family have great fondness for it.I made it from homemade khova which I think is better than store-bought Khova!of-course as you may all know this khova is always easy to make.I personally have a stock of homemade khova in hand in my freezer!you can refer my detailed recipe of how to make homemade khova here in my space.When cooking gulab jamun the saffron added to the sugar syrup further improves the quality of the jamun.Once when you enjoy,recognize and appreciate khoya jamuns !then from then you will never think of buying gulab jamun mix from store.Saffron gives a lovely yellowness to the sugar syrup.If you have khoya ready in hand cooking gulab jamun is really a unexacting job.Now lets see the method of cooking gulab jamun..

INGREDIENTS:
Home made khoya/store-bought – 3/4 cup
All purpose flour – 1/4 cup
Oil as required
Sugar – 2 cups
Water for sugar syrup – 21/4 cups
Cardamom powder – 1/4 tsp
Saffron – few strands
Rose essence – one or two drops
Baking soda – 1/8 tsp
METHOD:
1.Add sugar to boiling water and when it dissolves filter it.
2.Then again bring to boil and add cardamom powder,essence and saffron to it.
3.Boil for some seven to eight minutes and switch off.
4.Now add khoya,all-purpose flour and baking soda in a bowl and knead well to form a dough.
5.Shape the dough into balls according to your need.
6.Fry in medium flame.
7.Take out golden in a tissue.
8.Immediately transfer it to the syrup.
9.Repeat the process till done.
10.And now delicious gulab jamun is ready.

Notes
Don't boil the syrup more than given time and the syrup should be warm.
Fried hot jamun's should be added to the sugar syrup.
Always keep the flame low when frying jamuns.
Add correct amount of baking soda for perfect jamun's.
If there is no enough moisture in khoya to form a dough add milk to it.
