Idly Podi recipe

Ingredients
  

  • Urad dhal - 1cup
  • Bengal gram dhal - 1cup
  • Dry chilli's -1 -11/2 cups
  • sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
  • salt - as needed
  • asafoetida - 1 tsp

Instructions
 

  • In dry kadai add dhal's separately
  • and fry till golden brown
  • fry chilli's and salt with little oil or even without oil.
  • Fry sesame seeds separately
  • Add asafoetida and grind the mixture after it cools.

Notes

Homemade podi is great than any other ready made podi's.
Podi tastes great with sesame oil.
This podi becomes handy in timeless situations.
