Amritsari fish fry recipe / crispy fried fish(restaurant style)

Ingredients
  

  • Bone less strips of vanjiram/sheer fish - 500 gms

  • Salt as needed

  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp

  • Kasuri methi - 1 tsp

  • Ajwain/omam - 1 tsp(crush)

  • Asafoetida/hing - 1/4 tsp

  • Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp

  • Kashmiri chilli powder - 3 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

  • Chat masala for sprinkling

  • Besan/bengal gram flour - 2 tbsp

  • Rice flour - 1 tbsp

  • Oil to fry

Instructions
 

  • First clean fish and take in a mixing bowl or a broad plate.
    2.Add salt then lemon juice and ginger garlic paste.
    3.Put turmeric powder,hing and chillipowder.
    4.Crush and add kasurimethi,with some crushed Ajwain.
    5.Mix all with light hands so that it gets well coated and let it marinate for 20 minutes.
    6.Now add besan and rice flour with little salt needed for flour.
    7.Mix it well with regular sprinkling of water so that it coats the fish.
    8.Heat oil in a kadai.
    9.When its hot add fish pieces fry and take out little early do the same for all the fish batches.
    10.Now again add fried fish in batches till it gets nicely crisp.
    11.Take out this crispy fish fry in a tissue.
    12.Serve hot with green chutney.

Notes

  • I have used sheer fish for this you can use any boneless fish.
  • Usually they make it with fresh water fish.
  • I have added Kashmiri chilli powder if you want it spicy add regular chilli powder.
  • Don’t miss to add ajwain it gives a nice flavour to the fish.
  • Don’t make a floury batter add the given amount so that it lightly coats the fish.
