how to do aloo paratha at home /aloo stuffed paratha

Ingredients
  

Stuffing:

  • Boiled potatoes - 4-5
  • Salt to taste
  • Chilli powder - 3 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 11/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala powder - 3 tsp
  • Some chopped coriander leaves

For the dough:

  • Wheat flour /kothumai maavu - 2 cups
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Water as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • Some flour to dust while rolling
  • Ghee or oil to make parathas

Instructions
 

  • First boil the potatoes and grate the potatoes in-between make the dough using the above ingredients listed.
    To make the dough please check here chapathi or phulkas.
    Keep it ready.
    Now add chilli powder, salt cumin, garam masala and chaat masala powders to the grated potato with some coriander leaves and make a dough.
    Pinch off the balls from the chapatti dough roll it by dusting with flour.
    Smear some oil or ghee and dust with some flour then place a ball of stuffing and close the dough.
    Roll the parathas by dusting flour whenever necessary to a circular one.
    Heat a tava smear with ghee add the rolled out parathas roast to golden on both the sides by adding ghee.
    Serve with any raita of your choice.

Notes

Adding oil while kneading the chapathi dough is optional.
We grate the potatoes so that while rolling also we don’t get any lumps.
Adding spiciness is according to your taste.
While rolling apply pressure evenly and lightly so that the mixture inside does not ooze out.
Ghee will be best for this than oil.
