gujarati sweet sukhadi /Gud(gur)papdiThis gujarati sweet sukhadi is an honest straight forward dish with no complicated procedures and proves to be a best authentic sweet with no compromise. As in most of the gujarati sweets jaggery is given more importance because jaggery has a special character to balance the heat of the body keeping it warm. The ingredients used in each region is purely influenced by the climate of that area. While selecting jaggery it should be dark coloured one and that is the good one compared to golden hard jaggery. More than a salad or a chaat this chana fruit snack can be called as a sundal(a type of healthy snack) too why not? a combination of chickpeas/garbanzo/chana along with some fruits for this “Navrathri” will be too good. For seasoning I have added just chat masala and salt but you can add black salt even chilli powder with little salt will do. Continue reading
