boondi chaatAre you planning to serve appetizers why not serve chaats?Sure will be a promising starter kindling the real appetite in you with bursting flavors.Craziness for chaats among people have proved quiet evident as most of our weddings functions nowadays have special chaat corners,the main crowd-puller of the whole food varieties that are put on show.boondi chaatThe boondi chaat should be served immediately otherwise it will loose all its texture and crunchiness!so must be mixed quickly,served quickly.The main crunchiness are from boondi and peanuts,a pleasant burst of flavors and textures are from onion,tomatoes,cucumber and the true spiciness are from tamarind chutney and chat masala(slightly from green chillies).

boondi chaatwhen adding lemon juice add it according to your taste depending upon how tangy you would like it to be.Even can add thinly sliced raw mangoes for tanginess instead of lemon juice.Tamarind chutney are available at all grocery store outlets ,I have made my own chutney  and adding home-made chutney(preparations) are always  best.

INGREDIENTS:

Boondi(kara/spicy) – 1 cup
Onion chopped finely – 1/4 cup
Chopped tomatoes – 1/4 cup(only outer part)
Cucumber – 1/4 cup (peel skin and chop outer part alone)
Green chillies – 1 (finely chopped)
Peeled roasted peanuts – 1/4 cup
Some chopped coriander leaves
Chat masala – 1-2 tbsp
Lemon juice – few drops
Sweet tamarind chutney – 4 tbsp

METHOD:

1.Take a bowl add onions,tomatoes,peanuts,chat-masala,cucumber,coriander-leaves,green-chilli and mix.
2.Then add boondi to it with tamarind chutney.
3.Mix well and add some drops of lemon juice.
4.Mix thoroughly and serve immediately.

Instructions
 

  • Take a bowl add onions,tomatoes,peanuts,cucumber,chat-masala,coriander-leaves,green-chilli and mix.
  • Then add boondi to it with tamarind chutney.
  • Mix well and add some drops of lemon juice.
  • Mix thoroughly and serve immediately.

Notes

Boondi chats should be mixed immediately otherwise it releases water and become soggy.
Always add boondi when you are about to serve.
Even mango pieces can be added for extra tanginess.
Here there is no need to add salt but if you wish you can add according to your personal taste need.
All the measurements can be changed and served according to individuals taste.
